It looks great!
Did you chainsaw cut the rough-out work?
Yes, when I do a sculpture I always chainsaw the first rough form of a work...only than I begin to use other tools. Before I make a claymodel (there is also a pic of the wooden work with it's model) as reference
he's very cat-like in his apparent enjoyment of the sunshine
Nice! I've done some dragons wrapped around rocks too (ceramic, and smaller), and I like the way you've integrated them. (Making believable rocks is hard!)
Thanks a lot ! There are two more pics of him...one in sephia and the other one with the clay model I made before I started the wood process. As for me he is a quite young dragon which streches out after a break . I for sure don't like every work of mine, but this one I like ..he appears quite...well...cozy
Hummm... I just realized I never put up a photo of my "Guardian" piece, with the dragon wrapped around a rock. It's sitting in a gallery at the moment, so I'll have to see if I can dig up a photo.
I do have another fun little piece I have put up here: observer14.deviantart.com/art/… . I've always done dragons and such creatures since I was a little kid. There's so much room for imagination!
Yeah, looks like he's enjoying the warm sun after a nap. Maybe he just had a nice lamb for lunch. No into capturing princesses yet...
Amazing piece !
That is absolutely amazing~
